The Graduation

How are filmmakers “made” in France? The crème de la crème graduated and then started teaching at the legendary Parisian film school, La Fémis. Claire Simon, the head of the directing department, documents the brutal several-months-long admission process which ends with selecting a mere forty candidates. Everybody is equal, but according to this powerful institution, only some will be the future of the French cinema.
