Director Mengtai Zhang went through a difficult time as a teenager. His parents were going through a divorce, and he increasingly escaped into the world of online computer games. His distraught parents finally decided to send him to a special center to be cured of his internet addiction. In this VR simulation, we walk with Mengtai through the inhospitable space of a Chinese mental institution, which transforms over time into a prison from which there is no escape.

The multidisciplinary artist of Chinese origin now works in New York. In his immersive projects, he combines the media of sculpture, sound, and simulation, combining personal and socio-political narratives. His works have been presented at the prestigious IDFA and Sundance festivals.
