Violence, terrorist attacks, and rampant bureaucracy were Italy's daily bread in the 1980s. The political relations between Italy and France were ice-cold. In 2002, the murder of an Italian judge opened old wounds. The French director of Italian origin deals with the dramatic history that influenced her whole generation through the story of a left-wing activist, Marco, charged with the assassination.
