In the eyes of the aristocrat and poet Vita Sackville-West, Virginia Woolf was a genius writer whose work and life attitudes she admired. When they met in person in the tumultuous years between the wars – a period of wild parties and political earthquakes –, admiration turned into a passionate affair that inspired Woolf’s most remarkable novel, Orlando. This romance with an all-star cast is based on the real lives of these icons of British literature and queer history.
