A renowned heart surgeon and his 21-year-old daughter have the opportunity to spend more time together after a long time. They have many miles of walking in Iceland ahead of them. They are not only going to hot springs or glaciers, though, but also back to the past, where many wrongs and questions remain. The ability to listen to each other and be supportive, which they learn during the trek, proves to be vital for them. There is also a third character in this introspective drama in which two people wrestle with nature and their own thoughts: the breath-taking Icelandic scenery.

Rudolf Havlík

The director, screenwriter and avid traveller made his debut with the inventive romantic comedy All My Tomorrows (2014). His romantic film The Fairy Tales for Ema (2016) won the Audience Award at the Phoenix Film Festival. In 2018, his comedy What Men Want topped the Czech attendance charts; the film was written together with writer Radka Třeštíková who also wrote the screenplay for Havlik’s Sweethearts (2020).
