Genhe is a city in Inner Mongolia which is one of the coldest regions of China where the temperature stays deep below the freezing point for most of the year. There, a group of teenagers from dysfunctional families practice running. Every day in light or darkness, they fight against wind, snow and pain under the leadership of an uncompromising trainer. This inspiring documentary shows their youthful determination driven by their hope of leaving their poor region on an athletic scholarship.

SUN Geting

In China, Geting Sun is mostly known for his TV documentary series The Forbidden City 100 (2012), Tea: The Story of the Leaf (2013) and Every Treasure Tells a Story (2018). Keep Running is his feature-length debut and it premiered at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
