Director Fritz Lang was a man shrouded in many legends. A filmmaking genius on one hand, a violent egocentric obsessed with sex and suspected of murdering his own wife on the other. A man who was trying to understand and address evil his whole life – evil in himself as well as in others. The formally stylized biographical drama follows Lang during the preparation of his opus magnum, M, for which Lang seeks inspiration in a true story of a serial child-murderer.
