The slums of Berlin, between the wars, are the setting for brutal murders of small children. When the German police exhaust themselves in search of the killer, the criminals of underground Berlin join forces in the hunt for his head. Fritz Lang (Metropolis), along with his scriptwriter Thea von Harbou, found inspiration for his first sound motion-picture in the real cases of serial killers, and the films belongs among the legends of world cinema.
