Through no fault of her own and for understandable reasons, Bunny has reached rock bottom. Despite this, her path among social services to regain her children is more complicated than one might expect. She earns side money washing cars for a pittance, and she sleeps on her sister’s couch. At least for now. Bunny is trying at all costs to resist a system that throws obstacles at both her and other women instead of aiding them in their social reconvalescence. Will she succeed in becoming the heroine of her own story, and perhaps even the story of her children and niece? Essie Davis and Thomasin McKenzie star in this film about victory over adversary.
