A Danish family is visiting their Dutch friends whom they've met on holiday but the visit isn't going as expected. Despite the unpleasant moments stemming from cultural and personal differences, the Danish try to remain polite. However, the remoteness of the location exacerbates the mutual misunderstanding of the two families and primal fears drive the tension up to an unbearable level. This horror is similarly unsettling as Hereditary.

Christian Tafdrup

Born in Copenhagen, Christian is a well-known actor. As a director, he intrigued the audience as well as the Danish Film Academy which presents the Robert Awards with his A Horrible Woman (2017) romantic drama about a destructive relationship of two very different people. Speak No Evil is his latest film and explores fears rooted in daily life and ordinary social ties. It premiered at this year's Sundance festival.
