On Chesil Beach

This sensitive drama focuses on a young couple on their honeymoon in early 1960s. But in the hotel with a view of the beach, the newlyweds realize they're far from ready for their wedding night. With humor and sadness, the film reveals how deeply the norms and expectations of an era are imprinted on the young generation. The renowned British writer Ian McEwan adapted his own novel into the screenplay.
