An extremely hard-working and capable police officer takes on the extra task of investigating a case of multiple arsons. With the same zeal, however, he also goes into debt for his girlfriend, and it's not long before problems start to crop up. Can he deal with them in time? This crime thriller set in a contemporary Romanian small town stands out for the actors' convincing performances, the cinematography of Oleg Mutu, and the fluidity with which it combines several genres.

The Romanian filmmaker first caught the attention of foreign audiences and juries with his debut Periferic (2010), which premiered in Locarno and won three prizes at the Thessaloniki IFF and four prizes in Warsaw where his second feature film Unidentified was first screened and awarded. It's the first part of a planned trilogy, the second part of which, entitled Miracle, premiered in Venice this year.
