Good-hearted Nikola is about to take full responsibility for his two children after their mother has a nervous breakdown. Since he has been unemployed for a long time, though, the committee does not consider him to be competent and wants to place the children with foster parents. Extremely agitated Nikola decides to seek help from the ministry in Belgrade. The atypical road-movie tells a story about the power of parental love and empathy, and conveys a powerful, critical message about contemporary Serbian society.
