Produced by National Geographic and based on true events, the TV mini-series tells the story of the origin of the Ebola virus. This highly contagious deadly virus appeared in a rainforest in Central Africa, from where it spread all the way to the USA. Veterinarians as well as secret military units try to prevent the virus from spreading to the human population. This six-part series is based on Richard Preston's eponymous book, a bestseller from the 1990s.
Together, the two American film and TV directors have made six episodes of the successful Hot Zone series. Michael Uppendahl first worked for the AMC TV station and then for Fox, where he directed Fargo, American Horror Story and many other series. Nick Murphy has co-directed many series and his filmography also includes two features.
