The acclaimed French director often returns to his ancestors' Romany culture in his work. This time, the film reverberates with rembetiko, the lively music of outcasts from Greek ports. Djam's family sends her to Istanbul for ship parts. But the young woman meets a desperate and broke volunteer from France in the town and decides to bring her along. This original road movie with a shared backpack and a bouzouki in hand premiered in Cannes.
