28th PRAGUE IFF – FEBIOFEST: DAY 6

THIS YEAR’S EDITION OF PRAGUE IFF – FEBIOFEST IS COMING IN ITS FINAL STAGE!

Several prominent filmmakers took the opportunity to meet their audience on Wednesday 22 September: The director of the stylized black comedy Marygoround (Girls in Film section) Daria Woszek, the acclaimed photographer and director of a documentary about a world-famous Bangladeshi surfer Nasima – The Most Fearless (Docs section) Heather Kessinger, French actress with Kosovan roots Luàna Bajrami, who brought her directorial debut The Hill Where Lionesses Roar (section Generation), Romanian theater and film director Eugen Jebeleanu with his film Poppy Field (Queer Now), actress and film director Michela Andreozzi with her highly topical comedy Parents vs Influencers (Comedy Competition) and director Sandra Wolner and scriptwriter Roderick Warich who presented their film The Trouble with Being Born (Panorama: New Currents section).

Director Ivan Ostrochovský attended a screening of his film Servants, with which he won the Prague IFF – Febiofest Main Competition in 2020. This year, Ostrochovský joined Czech actor and director Jiří Mádl and Iranian filmmaker Mahnaz Mohammadi to complete the Main Competition jury. The jury met on Wednesday to vote on the winning film of the 28th Prague IFF – Febiofest.

The Czech Television-produced mini-series Nineties, directed by Peter Bebjak, premiered at Febiofest. Actor Kryštof Bartoš and other members of the creative team appeared on the red carpet at this opportunity.

And last but not least, this year’s Febiofest now knows the winners of the amateur short film competition You Are the Filmmaker – the results were announced at Cinema City Slovanský dům, along with a screening of all selected films.
