Dwight and Jessie, brother and sister, deal with troubles in their lives that we can hardly imagine. They must care for their brother Thomas who suffers from a strange illness that turns him into something dangerously close to a vampire. When Dwight begins to question his actions and Thomas longs to leave the darkened house he lives in, trouble starts brewing. This darkly intimate story reveals the exceptional visual sensibility of its creators.

Cuartas started as a director, writer, producer, and editor of short films. His feature debut My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To was awarded at numerous festivals, including an award for Michael Cuartas, the cinematographer (and director’s brother). It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
