In the mid-19th century, Mary Anning is a sought-after expert in palaeontology. Even her life on the British coast, where she looks for ammonite to get herself out of the routine of caring for her mother and household, seems petrified. She certainly does not need to take care of her admirer's wife, who fell ill during a visit to the countryside, on top of that. Especially since the young woman seems to be much more interested in her than in the cephalopods displayed on the shelves. Francis Lee

The British director has worked as an actor for many years and shot his first short film only in 2012.
