Arnaud Desplechin receive a Kristián award for lifetime contribution to world cinema.
Closing ceremony of the festival
Two Kristián awards were presented at the festival’s closing ceremony. The first was received by a French director with a distinctive style, Leos Carax, whose three most important films were screened during this year’s Febiofest. The second recipient of the festival’s top honour was French acting star Catherine Deneuve, who on Wednesday introduced her film A Christmas Tale. That film was directed by Arnaud Desplechin, another distinguished guest at this year’s festival, and earned a special jury award for Catherine Deneuve at the Cannes IFF in 2008.
Prize of the festival
This year’s competition consisted of the 10 movies from the New Europe program section, which comes with a EUR 5,000 prize for the first prize winning filmmakers from various European states, this year given to the movie Custody from the director Xavier Legrand.

Febiofest jury
Once again this year, the festival’s Grand Prix was awarded by a 33-member jury composed of film fans. The Chairman of the Jury was the famous Czech singer Marta Kubišová. The members of the jury were selected from hundreds of candidates by festival president, Fero Fenič.
