Movie synopsis: Replaced by a dog, Toño Marquez is dismissed after 11 years as a scrapyard night guard. In his indispensable hat, he sets off to look for a job, which are rather scarce for men his age in the Mexican countryside. An opportunity arises upon meeting an old friend, and Toño and five guys get to work: painting yellow lines along 217km of a road winding through a beautiful yet inhospitable landscape under the blazing sun. Their road movie unfolds at one kilometre per hour, and examines, with nostalgic honesty, the budding friendship of the men, who each had his own reason to go on this journey. The film was co-produced by a distinguished Mexican director, Guillermo del Toro.
