Movie synopsis: The largest military action by Polish troops after WWII took place in 2004 in Iraq. When jihadist rebels rioted in a controlled zone of Karbala city, a group of Polish and Bulgarian soldiers was ordered to defend the City Hall at all costs, where they were trapped with provisions and ammunition for more than 24 hours. Based on real events, the action film illustrates the brutality of modern war and draws the viewer to the individual soldiers' perspective in the most extreme situation of fighting for one's life. National heroism and professional execution is why the film has become one of the most successful pictures in Polish cinema history.
