Movie synopsis: Jacques (award-winning Vincent Lindon) works as the head of a charity organization which helps children in an unspecified African country. Together with his colleagues, their task is to protect local children from an ongoing military conflict. Yet as the old saying goes – the way to hell is paved with good intentions, which Jacques and his friends find out very quickly. Joachom Lafosse's captivating psychological drama is loosely based on a scandal which shocked France in 2007. At that time, an NGO, Zoé's Ark, was charged with an attempted kidnapping of over hundred children from Chad to France. Although the organization's members claimed it was a rescue mission, many discrepancies were found in the case.
