Culinary Cinema - Appetite for Film
For three evenings, Febiofest will offer a unique opportunity to get acquainted with exquisite cuisine and taste menus inspired by cinema in the pleasant atmosphere of a “film restaurant” created in the Barrandov studios, and see great films that will attack the viewers' taste buds. This special film section of Culinary Cinema is organised in cooperation with the Berlinale film festival where it appeared for the first time.
The three exceptional meetings with film creators and chefs led by Zdenek Pohlreich will take place from March 24th to March 26th at 19:00. On the occasion of the screening of Final Recipe, a film by Korean director Gina Kim in a Korean-Singaporean-Thai co-production that will take us to today's Shanghai where an international cooking competition is taking place, the menu will present Asian cuisine. An Italian menu will accompany Luca Guadangino's I Am Love – an erotic-gastronomic delicacy. There's no need to add that he had been trying to decide for a long time whether to choose food or film as his life’s work. Last but not least, a menu inspired by the best Michelin-starred restaurants will be served together with Foodies, a documentary by Swedish directing trio, Thomas Jackson, Charlotte Landelius and Henrik Stockare. They made a portrait of several fanatical food enthusiasts who enjoy a rather unusual hobby: they travel around the world and savour tasting menus in the best Michelin three-star restaurants. They are people from different backgrounds: a former Lithuanian model, a blogger from New York, and another one from Hong Kong, yet the one getting close to beating the world record is an elderly Englishman, an author of food books who is about to try the very last of the 96 three-starred restaurants. The tickets, including the admission fee for the film restaurant at Barrandov, film screening, and multi-course menu are 1,500CZK, and will be available one month before the festival at Ticketportal.
