Febiofest to present the Kristián award to Jan Tříska

Actor Jan Tříska is set to travel to Febiofest from the US, where he resides, to receive the Kristián Award for his contribution to world cinema.  The outstanding Czech actor Jan Tříska, who celebrated his 80th birthday in the autumn, began his career in theatre. One of his first film roles was as Radúz, in the poetic drama Radúz and Mahulena. Jan Tříska will introduce the picture in person on March 25th at CineStar Praha – Anděl. The legendary actor has played an impressive number of roles and enjoyed success not only in his native country but also in the United States, following his emigration in 1977. During his American exile, he worked with Miloš Forman on the movies Ragtime and The People vs. Larry Flint. He also entered the consciousness of Czech viewers as the uncompromising teacher Igor Hnízdo in The Elementary School by director Jan Svěrák, with whom he has just finished shooting a new film.

Enter your email address to log in. Decide if you wish to receive newsletters from us.

Click on a gold star, and your film will be saved to your personal program! Your list will be saved so you can see it at anytime after you log in. If you change your mind, just click the X, next to the film in your list, and it will be deleted.

If you want to buy tickets online, go to “My Program”, click on the name of the first film, chose the screening, and click BUY TICKET. You’ll be transferred to the CineStar website, where you can chose your seats. Then click to “Chose another ticket” and you will go back to “My Program” and can repeat the process. When you select your last seat on the CineStar webpage, go to “Continue” and you can buy all tickets at once.
