Febiofest to present more movies with "Czech touch" in Central Park and Panormama sections

The program’s Central Park section delivers the domestic premiere of Slovak-Czech-Hungarian drama The Little Harbour by Iveta Grofová, a recent winner at the Berlinale. The director based the picture on Monika Kompaníková’s successful novel The Fifth Boat, which was book of the year in Slovakia in 2010. The film, which tells the story of a family’s unorthodox children and was inspired by real events. The film won a Crystal Bear in the Berlinale’s Generation Kplus competition. In the Panorama section, the festival will present Like a Movie, a feature-length experimental film by Czech visual artist Tomáš Svoboda in which he offers a synthesis of his conceptual ideas spanning several years. Svoboda is a founder of the Display gallery and heads the New Media studio at Prague’s Academy of Fine Arts. Among films with Czech involvement is Spoor, the previously announced Opening Night film by director Agnieszka Holland. Štěpán Hulík contributed to the screenplay, which is set in the Czech-Polish border area, while Miroslav Krobot fills one of the main roles. At this year’s Berlinale the Polish-Czech-German film won the Alfred Bauer Prize for a picture that opens new perspectives on cinematic art.

Here’s how to make your own list of movies to see at Febiofest. You can even print it out to take to the box office or click to immediately buy your tickets online.

Click on a gold star, and your film will be saved to your personal program! Your list will be saved so you can see it at anytime after you log in. If you change your mind, just click the X, next to the film in your list, and it will be deleted.

If you want to buy tickets online, go to “My Program”, click on the name of the first film, chose the screening, and click BUY TICKET. You’ll be transferred to the CineStar website, where you can chose your seats. Then click to “Chose another ticket” and you will go back to “My Program” and can repeat the process. When you select your last seat on the CineStar webpage, go to “Continue” and you can buy all tickets at once.
