Febiofest to host Serbian actor Lazar Ristovski from Emir Kusturica's Underground

Coming to this year’s Febiofest will be Lazar Ristovski, a major figure in Balkans cinema who will present the black comedy Train Driver’s Diary, Serbia’s submission for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language film. Ristovski is also a successful screenwriter, director and producer whose directorial debut The White Suit was selected for the Critics’ Week at Cannes in 1999. He is known to Czech audiences primarily for playing the lead in Emir Kusturica’s Palme d’Or-winning comedy drama Underground, and for his part in Ivan Fíla’s King of Thieves, for which he won a Czech Lion for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2004. Train Driver’s Diary will be released in Czech cinemas after the festival.
