Czech Film Posters 1931 – 1948 exhibition
15.3./9:00 - 22.3./18:00 CET
The characteristic feature of film posters from the 1930s is a composition of multiple pictures or figures complemented with large spots of distinctive colors. It was their graphic design that prevented posters of that era from being fully recognized by the professional community. Come and discover the charm and naivety of advertising banners that have been drawing visitors to the cinema since the very beginning of sound film in 1931 to the end of the complete nationalization of Czechoslovak cinematography in 1948. The exhibition will present a comprehensive selection of film posters from the collection of the City of Prague Museum.
