Febiofest will welcome Italian director Marco Belocchio

Marco Bellocchio

Marco Bellocchio is one of the most important Italian filmmakers, side by side with Bernard Bertolucci and Pier Paolo Pasolini. Bellocchio also appeared in Pasolini’s last work, Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom. Bellocchio’s directorial work includes political dramas, catholic satire, but also unconventional variations on traditional themes, such as his adaptation of Henry IV starring Marcello Mastroianni and Claudia Cardinale. Ever since Bellochio’s award-winning film debut Fists in the Pocket, his films have been regularly screened at film festivals such as Venice or Cannes. His film The Conviction was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Berlinale in 1991.
