Movie synopsis: Ari's mom leaves for a place which “is not for children.” Ari, a singer in a boys' choir, who's at that age between childhood and rebellious teenage years, is sent from Reykjavik to his dad and grandma, to the north of the island where polar day rules. In breath-taking settings, Ari learns about the rough life in the Icelandic countryside, tries to establish a relationship with his taciturn father, and waits for his muscles to grow during a part-time job in a fish factory. He also meets a childhood friend with her gang who look for ways to kill time at a place on the border between civilization and isolated wilderness. The sensitive coming-of-age story utilizes the uniqueness of the place and musical background by Sigur Rós's keyboard player.
