Movie synopsis: Konrad is a young teacher coming to a boys' school in Brunswick in the late 1800’s to be the first person to teach English there. However, the rigid institution strongly rejects any new teaching ideas, and stiff, old-fashioned order prevails over fair judgement. Apart from the language, Konrad soon starts to instil the idea of fair play into his students, and demonstrates it on a peculiar and, so far, exclusively English sport – football. Sebastian Grobler's historical drama is loosely based on the life story of a football pioneer, Konrad Koch. The enthusiastic sportsman and strong moral authority is portrayed by Daniel Brühl.
