Sara Nameth studied social anthropology at Stockholm University and later went on to complete her Master’s degree at the University of Oxford. Nameth published an article titled “Screenwriting as Fictional Ethnography,” in which she examines the similarities between the anthropological approach and scriptwriting. Nameth worked in advertising and collaborated on Roy Andersson’s film A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence. Her screenwriting feature film debut is The Yard, which is an adaptation of Kristian Lundberg’s novel of the same name, and was directed by Nameth’s husband Måns Månsson.
