Febiofest and Culinary Cinema will host Italian movie star, Alba Rohrwacher

The Wonders, Alba Rohrwacher

On February 19th, tickets will go on sale for the prestigious new section of Culinary Cinema. During three film evenings from March 24th to 26th, chefs from three top Prague restaurants – Jan Kratochvil from Divinis, Marek Hora from Yamato, and Michal Psenicka from Cafe Imperial – will cook for the audience under the direction of chef Zdenek Pohlreich. The program in the restaurant set up in Barrandov will include a screening and a several-course dinner prepared and served on the spot. Menu Febiofest Italy 2015 is accompanied by the screening of I Am Love, Final Recipe inspires the chefs for Menu Febiofest Asia 2015, and Menu Febiofest Foodies 2015 will be served after watching the documentary, Foodies, set in the environment of the best Michelin restaurants. Culinary Cinema will also host distinguished personalities: apart from Berlinale's director Dieter Kosslick; the director of Foodies, Charlotte Landelius, and star Alba Rohrwacher, who also appears in the “gastro-erotic delicacy” of I Am Love, and who is featured in her own Tribute at this year's festival. The price of the ticket for Culinary Cinema is 1,500 CZK.

Thirty-five-year-old Alba Rohrwacher earned great respect of critics for her role of a mentally disturbed daughter in a drama from 2008, Giovanna's Father. She also appeared in a similar role in an adaptation of Paolo Giordano's Italian best-seller, The Solitude of Prime Numbers, where she portrayed a traumatised girl who is looking for her place within society after a life tragedy. This film, also starring Isabella Rossellini, will be included in the festival's program, alongside The Wonders from 2014, whose director and scriptwriter is Alba's older sister, Alice Rohrwacher. Alba plays the role of a mother of a large family, which is ruled by a despotic husband. The film was inspired by the sisters' childhood and won the Grand Prize of the Jury in Cannes last year. Alba's latest great acting triumph came last year at the International Film Festival in Venice where she was awarded for the leading role in Hungry Hearts.
