Barbora Bobuľová, a Slovak beauty who conquered Italian cinema and won most of the important Italian prizes for actors, is the first announced star of this year's Febiofest.

While Czechs and Slovaks appreciate their footballers that reached the Italian Serie A, they should appreciate their actors who made it in Italy as well. Barbora Bobuľová (b.1974) is an actress who is mainly known to Czech audiences as the princess in a Czech fairy-tale, The Immortal Auntie, but Febiofest is about to change that.

The Slovak beauty has been living and establishing a successful career in Italy since the 1990s. Her first major role was in Marco Bellocchio's Prince Homburg (1997), but her breakthrough came with Ferzan Özpetek's Sacred Heart (2005). She starred in Paolo Genovese's Immaturi (2011), Ivano De Matteo's Balancing Act (2012), and others. She shared the role of Coco Chanel with Shirley MacLaine in the eponymous film.

She has collected almost all of the important awards of the Italian film industry: David di Donatello, Silver Ribbon, the Golden Globe, etc. Febiofest pays tribute to her with the Italian part of her filmography.
