Febiofest welcomed 61,500 visitors in Prague and now it's going to the regions

The Swedish- Icelandic film, Home, the first film directed by Maximilian Hult, won the New Europe competition. The Grand Prix along with 5000 euros was presented at the Closing Ceremonies by Oscar-winning costume designer Theodor Pištěk, the honorary chairman of this year's jury. "The New Europe Competition took place for the seventh time this year and even the jury said they had no clear favorite. The competition was very even with the winner finishing with only a small lead over the Polish competition film Life Feels Good, and the Israeli film Rock the Casbah," says Febiofest program director Štefan Uhrík. The Ceremonies concluded with the premiere of The Physician starring Ben Kingsley and Stellan Skarsgård, followed by a reception at the Michna Palace in Malá Strana.

This year the festival attracted 61,500 visitors, which is more than last year.

Regional echoes will take place in 13 cities
