The 21st edition of Febiofest will start its Regional Echoes in the South of Bohemia. You can see 8 selected films from this year's Febiofest in the CineStar cinema (Halls 3 and 8) in České Budějovice from Monday, March 31st, to Wednesday, April 2nd. Films from four sections will be introduced – the New Europe competition. World Cinema Panorama, Northern Lights and the Special Screenings.

Febiofest in Prague is over. On Friday, March 28th both the Grand Prix and the Kristian awards were handed. But Febiofest is not over yet. It will continue in 13 cities accross the country starting tonight and ending on April 17th. Check out the timeline.

Ladies and gentlemen ... The winner of the Grand Prix at this year's Febiofest is Home, a Swedish-Icelandic film!  Its director, Maximilian Hult, will receive the Grand Prix at the Closing Ceremony tonight along with € 5,000 as a reward. Another € 5,000 will be given to promote the distribution of the film.

Czech viewers got acquainted with Norwegian director Bård Breien seven years ago thanks to his successful feature debut, The Art of Negative Thinking. Breien now returns with a black comedy variation of film noir. Detektiv Down was shot in Prague and Febiofest will present it in Czech premiere. The film is being prepared for cinema distribution after the festival.

As in the past several years, we’ve chosen a jury that will decide the winner of the Grand Prix from among the 12 films selected for the competition. The winner will be announced at the Closing Ceremonies on March 28th Febiofest by the Honorary Chairman of the Jury, Theodor Pištěk.

We will introduce a cross-section of the youngest generation of Ukrainian filmmakers, who have had to leave school because of the current events in their country. The screenings will be FREE for all at the opening of Febiofest on the 20th of March - limited to the seating capacity of the Hall. Three filmmakers will visit the screenings as guests.

Febiofest kicks off on the 20th of March this year. The Opening Ceremony will take place in Prague at Cinestar Anděl and guests will view one of two films specially chosen for Opening Night. One film is from Europe and the other from America. Both films will be on the program later on during the festival week.
