Movie synopsis: Orphaned Champion lives with his grandmother, Madame Souza. He likes his fat dog Bruno, and he loves cycling above all. His hard work pays off and he enters the Tour de France, but he is kidnapped during the race by evil gangsters from Belleville to be used in a gambling sports game. Madame Souza cannot let that happen, so she and Bruno follow the villains. They meet a trio of elderly music hall singers, start performing with them, and the grannies fight against the mafia together in order to save Champion, not giving the scoundrels any chance. Sylvain Chomet's feature debut pays a tribute to the legendary Jacques Tati and has enchanted both audiences and critics, receiving numerous awards.
