Description: Baran was a young man when arrested with the rest of his bandit gang. The rest have died in prison. Thirty-five years later, Baran leaves his cell and discovers a changed Turkey. He returns to his village, only to discover it has disappeared beneath a dam lake. The rules of banditry require him to hunt for the man who betrayed him - his erstwhile best friend. The film is Western-like in character. It also reflects the breakdown of traditional structures in modern Turkey and the deep gulf between town and country.
