Description: The young Romany girl (Iva Bittová) falls in love with the country postman Jakub (Juraj Nvota). Their candid relationship is confronted with prejudice on both sides. The young man´s parents do not like it and nor do the girl´s brothers. Tension culminates at a dancing party where Jakub is beaten by a group of white boors. The Romany youths only threaten him to avoid Jolana... Their fragile love continues in town where Jolana finds a job in a tailor´s shop. Disillusion sneaks into their immature feelings... This poetic mosaic, at the end of which Jolanka marries a young Romany man, explores the coexistence of different ethnics. The picturesque story is enriched with a reflection about the meaning of dreams. The protagonists include a lot of big names - the hero´s bizarre uncle Anton was played by Josef Hlinomaz. Jakub´s neighbour who has trouble with her ever-hungry husband was played by Marie Motlová and one of the Romany women was represented by the well-known singer Věra Bílá. Film awards:
