WE STILL KILL THE OLD WAY / A CIASCUNO IL SUO

Description:
Two murders have been committed in Sicily. The left-wing Profesor Laurana, an honorable university-educated though somewhat provincial intellectual, does not believe that the deaths were accidental. He begins to investigate the complicated case himself. In the course of the investigation he meets the beautiful Luisa, widow of one of the victims. But what he does not know is that she is indirectly linked to the crime and that his curiosity and desire for justice will endanger his life...
Film awards:

Directed by: Elio Petri, (1929-1985)
Director´s annotation: Born in Rome, Elio Petri was a member of the Communist party and a contributor to left-wing papers (L´Unita a Citta apertá)in his youth. He left the party in 1956 in the wake of the bloody repression of the popular uprising in Hungary. He began his film career as an assistant and screenwriter for the director De Santise. After making two short films he made his full-length film début with L´assassino in 1961. Through all of his work weaves a thread of biting, dry humor, which Petri uses to criticize modern capitalist society and its ills. He died of cancer in 1982.
